Plan Your Trip to the Central Serengeti
Everything you need to plan a safari at Land of Nature Camp — the best time to visit, how to reach us in the Central Serengeti, what to pack, and what to expect on the ground.
Best Time to Visit
There is no wrong time to visit the Central Serengeti — wildlife viewing is exceptional in every month. What changes is the character of the experience.
Dry Season (Peak)
Peak game viewing. Vegetation thins, wildlife concentrates around the Seronera River, and predator sightings are at their most reliable.
Green Season
Lush landscapes, newborn animals, and outstanding birding. Lower rates and fewer vehicles — ideal for photographers.
Shoulder Month
The plains are drying, crowds are thinner, and the migration is often moving through the central and western Serengeti.
Getting There
Land of Nature Camp is easy to reach from Arusha, the gateway town for northern Tanzania safaris.
What to Pack
- Neutral-coloured clothing in khaki, olive, tan, or brown
- Warm layers for cool early mornings and evening game drives
- A soft-sided duffel bag for light-aircraft luggage limits
- Wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-factor sunscreen
- Binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens and spare batteries
- Insect repellent, personal medication, and a small daypack
What to Expect at Camp
Ours is a small, unfenced tented camp where wildlife moves freely through. A typical day begins before dawn with a morning game drive when predators are most active, followed by brunch, a midday rest, and an afternoon or sunset drive before dinner around the campfire. Our guiding team — led by head guide Baraka — turns every drive into an education in one of the most complex ecosystems on Earth. Expect Big Five game viewing, the famous leopards of the Seronera Valley, and more than 500 bird species.
